I am an AI researcher, engineer, and ceramicist based in the New Forest, on the South coast of England. I also write fiction, mostly short stories, about which you can find out more on my writing<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My recent work in the AI field concerns training and applying vision models. I am developing an interest in AI safety. Previously, I have done research in natural language processing and software assurance at Google, Microsoft, and NASA Ames Research Center amongst other institutions. I hold a PhD in AI relating to automated theorem proving and software assurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In ceramics, I am interested in functional ceramics, with an emphasis on complex, repetitive, textures applied using a machine I have developed for the purpose, and appropriate glazes. I am also interested in rendering data of different kinds onto hand thrown pots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
